Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Turkey Day!

We are in Gainesville, Florida, visiting with Teresa's family. We spent the first two days in St. Augustine, at Auntie Linda's beach house! The kids loved it - we visited an alligator farm, spent some time at the beach, went kayaking, buzzed around in Uncle David's dune buggy, and hunted for lizards.
Audrey missed a step and fell headfirst into the canal. Luckily, the tide was out, so she fell into knee-deep mud instead of water.

It has been a while since I've updated the blog! I've just celebrated my 1 year anniversary at Yahoo. I'm enjoying the job, but it is extremely busy!

Teresa is fully engrossed in her new hobby - jewellery design! She loves making rings, bracelets, pendants and other things and is gearing up for a Christmas bazaar in a couple of weeks.

Audrey (4) is our little socialite and loves school and gymnastics. Chad (6) has made the big jump to first grade and is doing well in school. He is enjoying his second year of taekwondo, and is currently keeping the tooth fairy very busy!

I'll send an update prior to the Christmas holidays.

Have a happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Spiderman!

When you have a boy with a Spiderman costume, and a Dad with a videocamera, you can probably imagine the result.

Happy Holidays!

Happy Holidays to everyone! We've enjoyed receiving many cards from all of you.

First, I fully realize I've been negligent in keeping our blog up-to-date! I PROMISE I'll do better!

We have lots of news over the past couple of months to tell you about!

The big news for me is that I have a new job! In early October, I found out my position at Intel was eliminated. We knew that our organization was going to be cut significantly, so I began looking for another job in late September. Luck and karma were on my side, because a day after I posted my resume onto Monster.com, I was contacted by Yahoo. About one month and 8 interviews later, I received and accepted the offer. I work as the Operations Manager for the Small Business Sales organization. I started on November 13. This job gives me a lot more responsibility than I had at Intel, and the atmosphere is much more young and 'hip'. I'm enjoying it and feel very fortunate to be able to start something so good so quickly.

I had a couple of weeks before my start date at Yahoo, so we decided to take a vacation to Disneyland. We were planning to go next summer anyway, so the timing was really good. It was a wonderful trip! We spent 4 days in the parks there. Audrey (turned 3 in Oct) really loved meeting and hugging the characters, and Chad (turns 6 in Jan) really liked the rides. He rode Pirates of the Carribean 6 times. He also rode some of the scarier rides like Space Mountain and Splash Mountain. We enjoyed the short lines (we were there weekdays in the off-season) but a freak November heat wave had us heading for the hotel pool in the early afternoon. After swimming and dinner, we'd head back into the parks for evening rides and parades.

We enjoyed a family trip to Granbury Texas to visit Teresa's parents for Thanksgiving. Chad and Audrey enjoyed trips to the Dollar Store, playing in Grandma and Grandpa's spacious backyard and riding around on the electric car that Grandpa bought from Uncle Bruce! We were even lucky enough to ride first class on the flight back! I could get used to that.

Over the past couple of weeks we've enjoyed receiving your wonderful cards and well wishes. We hope you are enjoying the holiday season, all our love to you and yours. I've assembled a little slideshow below with some of the pictures from the past few months. Enjoy!

Summer's Over!

It's September already! Hope you all had a wonderful summer. We had many adventures, including Chad's first time backpacking, a week in Black Butte, a couple of trips to the beach, camping with my parents, and a visit from Teresa's parents. I put a little video together to share some of the adventures we had. Click it below!
Chad has just started Kindergarten, Audrey is in pre-school 2 days a week and they LOVE school.
Many of you have heard the news about layoffs at Intel... it's been a slow, stressful process and I still don't know if I'm safe, but I should know by the end of September.

Another Foster Trick

For some reason, Foster likes to dunk his head underwater and retrieve big rocks. Here is a short video to show you his great skill. Enjoy!

Pirate Ships!

Happy June! One of the highlights of our Memorial Day weekend was visiting the 'Pirate' ships in Washougal. They are going to be docked in downtown Portland for the Rose Festival, but we decided to beat the crowds and see them last weekend in Washougal. Chad was in his element, and now he wants to sail the seven seas. He also asked the Captain a couple of questions. Audrey loved it, too!
